“Soul Touch,” my screenplay based on Deena Warner’s novella, has racked up another laurel. It’s a finalist in the Hollywood Storytellers Genre Script Competition for Best Feature Screenplay. The acceptance letter had this nice passage, which brightened my day:
Given the quality of submissions this year, your work stood out with our judges for its sophisticated character development, confident understanding of structure, elevated genre choices, and unique storytelling voice – making it a true honor to read.
So far, this script has won something from every competition I’ve submitted it to. (5 for 5 so far!)
I’m not sure where I’m going with it, honestly. Maybe one of these competitions will put me in touch with a producer. In any case, I’m glad this LGBTQ+ romantic fantasy has some legs.
