Website Accessibility Options Added

I added a couple of free, easy to use features to my website to improve accessibility:

  1. An automatic translation feature to the header.  Just select a flag (e.g., Spanish, Ukrainian), and all text will instantly update to the new language.
  2. Accessibility controls.  Click the little man icon floating in the lower righthand corner of your screen to open up controls changing point sizes, colors, and more.

Adding these things, which I learned about during my day job, are no-brainers, and I wish I did it sooner.

There are additional plugins out there to automatically generate image alt tags for the visually handicapped, but they cost moolah.  I’ll keep looking!

  1. And now I’m having to remove the translation widget because of performance issues. 🙁
